So the numbers compare cleanly, every quote is collected on the same project: 12 inch LP, 33 RPM, 140 g black vinyl, full colour single pocket jacket, printed inner sleeve, 5 test pressings, shrink wrap, delivery to Montreal.

What the index already shows
- At 300 copies, a complete comparable project came back at $3,416 from the first plant to answer: the low end of the published $5 to $15 per record range.
- Published add-ons fall fast with quantity: a printed inner sleeve drops from $2.50 to $1.18 per record between 100 and 300 copies.
- A one-off record exists, at one-off pricing: about $60 per record before the jacket.
Method
Two kinds of entries, always labelled: collected quotes, obtained for the identical reference project on a stated date, and published benchmarks, read from the plants' public price lists. No plant pays to appear here. The index updates whenever a new quote arrives and at least monthly. Prices exclude tax and shipping unless stated.
