About

My name is JP. I am a DJ, record collector and event organizer in Montreal. I have been DJing for over a dozen years, and I have been having custom vinyl made for 5 years.

A DJ first

I have been DJing for over a dozen years. I am also a record collector and an event organizer. For the past 5 years, I have had dubplates cut of my own edits, for my sets and my personal use. I am obsessed with music and with vinyl culture in general: I spend almost all of my free time digging, hunting for records, and hunting for the best ways to get new ones made.

Why this site exists

Figuring out how to get vinyl pressed or cut in Canada took me years of research. Prices were published almost nowhere, and every plant wanted an email exchange before giving even a rough idea. Even when vinyl was hard to access, I kept looking, to the point of seriously researching how to do it myself. This site gathers what I wish I had found at the start: plants compared on public facts, real prices collected by quote request and dated, and a single form to request prices from the plants that fit your project.

My mission

To make vinyl accessible and lasting for everyone. Analog music has real value, and pressing and cutting are crafts I do not want to see die. My goal is simple: anyone should be able to get a custom-made record, pressed or cut, without running an obstacle course.

How the site works

PressageVinyle.ca is independent. No plant pays to appear in the comparison or to receive quote requests. Published prices come from quotes collected for reference projects and from plants' public guides; they are dated and rounded, never presented as firm quotes. The service is free for artists and labels, and it is bilingual: French and English, everywhere in Canada. I read every request myself, and I answer them myself.
